CCS Category winners for Small Business Award at Culture For Success

CCS Category winners for Small Business Award at Culture For Success

Companies from across the region gathered to applaud the culture that is the root of their success at a major awards ceremony in Newcastle. Service Network’s landmark Culture for Success Awards received a record number of applications from companies eager to demonstrate the vital role employees play in their achievements.
The awards are designed to showcase the expertise, talent and passion of companies in the region. Now in their seventh year, these unique awards recognise the achievements of companies who demonstrate that they have a culture that fosters success in all areas of their business; from employee development and customer service, to winning new business and the contribution the business has made to regional prosperity. The judges look for organisations that have achieved success and shown innovation with the resources they have.

All entrants were judged against four key criteria: staff development; customer service; business growth; and contribution to the region, and judged in categories according to the number of employees. After weeks of consideration by a panel of judges, who commended the level of commitment to organisational culture, the winners were announced at an awards ceremony held at Northern Stage on 10th June 2010.

CCS Mobiles, were awarded the status of Winner of the Small Employer Category and were recognised for the embedded, naturally developed culture that enables the company to provide exemplary customer service. The business fosters growth by empowering employees to make critical decisions that will be supported and gives them ability to do deals for which they take responsibility. It boasts very low customer churn – the lowest in the UK in the experience of one of its major clients, Vodafone.

Chris Lee, managing director of CCS commented “this award comes at a key time for CCS as we execute on a major growth plan and it reinforces my belief in the team we have here. It is nice to be recognised as giving great service and especially nice to be judged against so many other small businesses irrespective of their industry”

Neil Warwick, Chair of Service Network said:

“These are great Awards; they are about the people who make companies work. In such difficult economic times it is those companies who recognise the impact that good employees have on customer service and profitability, that will not only survive the recession but accelerate out of it. The companies shortlisted have demonstrated the key ingredients required for a successful culture and we should be extremely proud to have them on our doorstep.”

The Culture for Success Awards 2010, was supported by Gateshead College, overall winner of the Awards in 2009. The judging panel included Nadine Hudspeth, Gateshead College; David Bowles, Chair of Entrust, Ivan Jepson, Northumbrian Water and Brian Nicholls, BQ Magazine.
